Bogie Side Frames
09/12/2019
	We've now placed an order for the machining and drilling of the bogie side frame plates. The plates have been moved into the machine shop where they have been tack welded together prior to machining starting.
Machining Drawings

	We are expecting delivery of our bogie castings in early February so our draughting team are cracking on with the machining drawings. Although we have reproductions of the original BR drawings, we are generating modern style drawings for our suppliers to work with. This is the centre slide for the front bogie. The pivot pin, fixed to the frames, engages with the central hole. The centre slide is free to slide left/right on the central bogie stretcher, restrained by the side control springs.
Bogie Castings

	We've received news from the foundry that 9 of the bogie castings have now been cast. The picture shows the bogie centre slide. The pivot pin bolted to the locomotive frames engages in the central hole on the slide which will be machined to receive a bush. The centre slide is free to move sideways on the bogie stretcher casting, restrained by side control springs. You can see more details of the component here. The 4 circular bosses are for the lubrication adaptors. Apologies for the picture quality - you can make out the 8 axlebox guides in the background.
