Frame Assembly appeal
02/08/2013
We are starting an appeal for the frame assembly costs. We have the funds available for the components and some of the assembly already thanks to the funding of the frames by a members and some very generous donations at the AGM. If we raise enough funds to more than cover the assembly of the frames the remainder will go towards the bogie and pony truck assemblies.

Please consider donating even if only a few pounds, we rely on our supporters generosity to fund this build and the more funds we raise the quicker the loco will be built.

You can make a donation by using the 'Make a donation' area on the front page of this website.

Many thanks.

2013 AGM
21/08/2013

At the Annual General Meeting, held at ‘Steam’ Museum in Swindon on 13th July 2013, the Council of Management were instructed, by those members present, to ask all members to make a contribution towards the cost of new frame plates.

However, since that meeting, a member has generously donated sufficient funds to cover the costs of the purchase and cutting of new plates. Therefore, we have amended this AGM instruction slightly to include a contribution towards the cost of additional frame parts, such as the motion brackets and horn guide keeps - and the machining of the components so acquired. Given the parts already in stock and on order, with your help now, it is antici-pated that we will be in a position to begin assembly of the frame structure during the fourth quarter of next year.

If you feel able to make a financial contribution, your donation would be much appreciated. Please make your donation either via the website donation link - which may be found at the bottom of the home page: http://www.72010-hengist.org or,
by a cheque made payable to: The Standard Steam Locomotive Company Limited. or,
by setting up a Standing Order for a regular Monthly, Quarterly or Annual donation – Standing Order Mandate Forms are available from the website or any member of the Council of Management.

Please send your donation to:-
The Standard Steam Locomotive Company Limited ‘HENGIST’, PO BOX 660, SWANSEA SA1 9LU

The successful result of this appeal will be a completed frame assembly, the foundation of the locomotive.
If all goes to plan, it is hoped to arrange a special visit for Donors to Riley’s works so that the completed frame structure can be viewed.

The future of the project looks excellent. With your help the future will come to fruition that little bit quicker.
Thank you in anticipation of your continued support,

The Council of Management

Frames Appeal
24/08/2013
We have launched an appeal to finance the assembly of the frames. Donors will receive invites to unveilings and members events. After all without our members and donors the loco wouldn't be possible.

Donations can be made here. Please note that every month a proportion of regular members donations and income will be added to the appeal. We don't need to raise the whole £80,000 from the appeal. As you will see we have received some significant donations already and all donations are very gratefully received.

If we raise over this figure the donations will go towards the front bogie and rear pony truck.

Components
24/08/2013
The combined stretchers and horn guides are due to be completed in the next few weeks. As soon as they are complete the website will be updated with photos of the components and a special e-newsletter will be sent.
The Frames will be cut in October providing that the horn guides are ready and delivered to Stephenson Engineering in Manchester.

Model Railway Stock Donation
24/08/2013
We have received a generous donation of model railway locomotives, carriages and wagons. We are in the process of cataloguing them but we estimate we have in the region of £4,000 to £5,000 worth of items. This is gratefully received and will be perfect stock for the upcoming Barrow Hill Live event and GCR galas.
