Donating to the 'CLAN' Project

We need your help to build 72010 Hengist. Donations of any amount are very welcome - why not become a regular monthly donor?

All Single Sum Donations in excess of £100 will attract a 'Certificate of Donation' - Donations of £50 to £100 will attract a pin-badge (Silver £50 to £75 and Gold from £76 to £100) - donations less than £50 will be acknowledged by post or email as applicable.

Regular monthly donations by members whose total reached £1000 will receive a signed, limited edition print of 'Warlord of the South' by Julie West - this print cannot be purchased and is reserved for regular monthly contributors only.

We are a Registered Charity - No: 1062 320 - so if you do pay income tax, please tick the Gift Aid box. This will allow us to reclaim the income tax that you will have paid on your donation.

Our Current Appeals are

Front Bogie

This appeal is to build the front bogie which is the next stage in our build plan. Currently the design team are converting the British Railways drawings into CAD models. We are also seeking quotes from suppliers. An interesting challenge will be the rectangular section (i.e. not round) springs that control the horizontal movement of the bogie. You can view the components we need at the bogie appeal page. If you would like to sponsor any component, large or small, please get in touch!

Target : £ 90,000.00 Raised : £ 68,040.00

Percentage complete : 75.6 %

Once the components connected with the bogie frame have been ordered, our attention turns to the components around dragbox at the rear of the frames. This includes the hind beam, rubbing plates and block and the substantial gussets that transfer the weight of the rear of the engine to the pony truck. To see more details of the components we require, please visit the dragbox appeal page.

Target : £ 30,000.00 Raised : £ 18,970.00

Percentage complete : 63.2 %

Boiler Phase 1

We are now starting to plan for the manufacture of the boiler. The first phase of the work will be to convert the original British Railways drawings of the boiler and firebox into drawings that can be used in a modern manufacturing plant.

Target : £ 60,000.00 Raised : £ 7,582.00

Percentage complete : 12.6 %
