New Frames Ordered!!
22/07/2013
After the discovery of the condition of the frame plates, we faced a difficult position. We were staring down the barrel as we had insufficient funding to order new plates given the commitments made with regard to the frame stretcher orders.

Victory from the Jaws of Defeat.

However, a member has come to our rescue with a magnificent donation to cover the cost of manufacture of new plates. It is hoped that these will be cut and machined during October.

This coupled to the resounding vote of confidence passed in the Council of Management at the annual general meeting held in Swindon have given us the determination to carry on with the project until we reach our goal of a successful, working, mainline registered locomotive.

Please keep coming back to our website for progress reports. Other parts are currently being manufactured and first news of completed parts will be featured here.

Teamwork – together we can achieve the extraordinary.

Brake Cylinder Stretcher
26/07/2013
  Highslide JS
We are pleased to report that the casting of the rear combined stretcher / brake cylinder support has now been ordered from Norton Cast Products. This stretcher has been kindly financed by project engineer Geoff Turner. It is expected that the casting will take between 4 and 6 weeks depending on the foundry schedule.

This casting is affectionately known as the 'bread tray' within the project!
