Highslide JS Clan Buchanan at Glasgow Central about to depart with a train for the south. The first of the class, 72000 Clan Buchanan, was treated to a special ceremony at Glasgow Central station in January 1952 at which the Lord Provost unveiled its nameplates.

Highslide JS This photo is from a set donated by Howard Turner. We understand that the photo was taken at Crewe Works on 7 February 1954. Howard "spotted" 72000 under construction at Crewe Works on 28 October 1951.
