Highslide JS 72007 in fine condition, location unknown.
Highslide JS On 23 May 1964, 72007 participated in the Railway Correspondence and Travel Society (Lancashire Branch) The Ribble-Lune Rail Tour. You can find details of the tour on the Six Bells Junction web site. Peter Fitton took this picture of 72007 at Blackpool Central Motive Power Depot before the engine worked to Preston to start the tour
Highslide JS The tour started from the East Lancashire platforms at Preston station. These have long been demolished, along with the warehouse, to be replaced by a car park.
Highslide JS Later on the same day, Peter Fitton took this photo of 72007 at Gisburn on the way to Hellifield.
Highslide JS After traversing the lines from Hellifield to Lancaster Green Ayre, 72007 was removed from the train at Heysham Harbour. A Ivatt class 2, 46441, took the train to Morecambe Promenade station where 72007 was reattached
Highslide JS The final stop of the tour, before returning to Preston, was at the site of the original Lancaster station before it was converted into a goods yard. The site is now the hospital car park.
Highslide JS At a different time, 72007 approaches Carnforth Station Junction from the Furness Lines. From the Geoff Rixon collection, courtesy of John Drew.
